My MUST HAVE Baby Items For 0-3 Months
Theres no one size fits all when it comes to having a baby and what all you should have for them. I for one was bombarded with ALL the recommendations, advice, and what I just HAD TO HAVE things when I was preparing for Rylie’s arrival. I’m honestly embarrassed at the amount of time and research that went into creating my registry. Hopefully I can provide some insight and help any future mommas narrow it down.
DOCK A TOT
My number 1, overall recommendation is definitely the dock a tot (or any similar version). I had a particularly rough recovery after giving birth so getting in and out of bed to grab the baby during the night was just not for me. I started Rylie out in the Dock a Tot in our bed from week one and when we were ready to transition her to the crib, I just put it in the crib and it made her feel like she was right where she normally slept. I personally think it makes her feel secure and “snuggled” and allows her to sleep peacefully.
Boppy Lounger
This thing was SO handy for us. I literally take it EVERYWHERE! I’m not kidding, beach, everyones house we visit, out by the pool, etc. We do not go anywhere without the boppy lounger, its so convenient to have a place to put the baby that doesn’t take up a whole lot of room.
Burp Rags
Burp rags, and LOTS of them! You will literally use them for everything! I’ll link a few of our faves!
Pacifiers
I didn’t know what a lifesaver these little pieces of rubber would be, but let me tell ya, MY GIRL LIVES FOR A PACI! She actually loved the one they provided at the hospital and we used it for the first 2.5 months until I lost it….. we won’t talk about the panic that set in when I realized I couldn’t find it… However we were able to find another brand at Target that she now loves as well! I will link both!
Velcro Swaddles
Listen Linda, if your child is Houdini like mine was and could escape the tightest of blanket swaddles then you NEED velcro swaddles. The first time I saw it I was like ok… what the?! But once I witnessed the magic that is a velcro swaddle I was hooked! So easy to use and best part, not even the Houdini-est of babies can escape it!
Maxi Cosi Stroller System
If you’re not ready to take out a second mortgage to purchase a stroller system but still want the sleek look and quality of something like the UppaBaby Stroller, check out the Maxi Cosi brand. We got lucky and our buybuy Baby had two of the same models on the floor so we were able to buy one at an even more discounted rate! This stroller is durable but also compact and can handle on or off-road terrain.
Freshly Picked Diaper Bag
I LOVE THIS BAG! Like I’ll probably still use it as a backpack even when I’m past the diaper bag stage. Its backpack style, leather (comes in lots of trendy colors), has an insulated pocket for bottles, comes with a fold up changing pad, and has lots of room for activities! ha. Lets face it when we become moms, we need practicality but also want to keep our personal style, and this bag is perfect for that! This brand also has a really fun subscription program if you’re into buying super cute things for your babe at a discount!
BOWS!
Ok I just had to throw this in there, if you’re a girl mom like me you need ALL THE BOWS! I found the best, affordable, oversized bows and I’m here to let you in on it! Happy shopping mommas, know that these are just a few of the many things I have really enjoyed using these last few months! If you have recommendations for the next few months or anything you want others to check out leave a comment below!
